McCoy Tyner

Pentatonic scales

Left handed piano man

Powerful bass line

*McCoy Tyner played with Coltrane for a number

of  years before he went on his own.  His style of

piano was very similar to that of Coltrane’s saxophone.

Being left handed, he played very strong bass and

with his right often used pentatonic scales for his solos.

He has been very influential throughout his career

inspiring many musicians.
